The Plant

After our catfish are tested and approved for flavor, texture, and quality, they continue their journey to our state-of-the-art facilities where they are processed, packaged and delivered to our customers all over the United States and internationally by our company owned trucking fleet.   Our catfish are kept alive up until the minute they are processed.  They are cleaned, processed, and placed on ice or frozen to temperatures of 40 degrees below zero.  Our frozen catfish are individually quick frozen (IQF), which preserves the flavor and quality.  The entire process, from the truck to packaging takes less than fifty minutes.  Now that’s fresh! We only process fish that have reached strict standards for optimum size and taste.  Harvest Select Catfish can be purchased whole, dressed, steaks, fillets, nuggets and strips. All products are available breaded, marinated, fresh or frozen.

Harvest Select is regularly inspected by the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDC), which set standards that mandate consistent production of clean, safe, and wholesome catfish. Our facility is also certified and complies with requirements set by the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program.  HAACP is a systematic and preventive program set up by the FDA, that identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards which are significant for food safety.

Harvest Select is proud to be the first in the industry to be certified according to Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) which are based on standards established by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) and certified by the Aquaculture Certification Council (ACC).  You can be confident that our catfish meet the highest possible standards and are farmed with respect to the environment.
