Safe – Harvest Select is proud to be the first catfish processing facility in the world to be certified by Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) and have met and exceeded strict regulations to receive the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) seal of approval. This mark on our packaging means you can be confident that our catfish meets the highest standards and was produced and processed in a responsible manner. Harvest Select operates under the FDA as well as the USDC HAACP plan. All of these regulatory organizations measure for product food safety and freshness. Harvest Select has met and surpassed all the requirements for these certifications.
Quality Assurance- Before the catfish is harvested, our QA department samples our catfish numerous times for superior flavor, texture and quality.
Freshness- Harvest Select catfish is processed and packaged in less than 50 minutes. Now that is fresh!
Eco- friendly – At Harvest Select, we go to great lengths to ensure that our catfish is farmed and processed with care and respect for the environment and community.
Traceability – Harvest Select is one of the few vertically integrated companies in the industry. This allows us to control and be directly involved in all phases of farming, production, processing, packaging and transporting. This means we trace our catfish from our farms all the way through the process to the consumer.
Proper Handling- Proper cleaning , chilling and freezing procedures are strictly enforced to ensure that our customers receive the freshest and safest catfish available.
Monitoring- Monitoring begins at our farms, where our catfish are fed a high protein pellet and oxygen levels are constantly checked. Harvest Select employees also monitor our products often during processing for such things as weight, size, appearance and proper temperature.
Nutrition- Our U.S. farm raised catfish is an excellent part of a healthy diet. It is high in protein and low in fat.
